WANAQUE, NJ – A motorcyclist was airlifted from a Wanaque crash scene after an accident that left him seriously injured on Saturday afternoon.
According to Daily Voice, the rider was northbound on Interstate 287 when he crashed into a guardrail near milepost 56 at about 3:15 p.m.
A helicopter transported the victim to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson for treatment of severe head trauma and a broken leg.
An off-duty fire chief happened to be driving past and stopped at the scene to assist.
The accident remains under investigation.
