MIDDLESEX, NJ – An accident in the Route 1 travel lanes on Tuesday morning sent a vehicle crashing into two gas station pumps, resulting in a fire.
According to Daily Voice, a red SUV was driving north near Driscoll Road when it struck a second vehicle as it turned toward the gas station entrance. The impact forced the SUV into the gas station parking lot and into two of the gas pumps. They were knocked over and immediately erupted in flames.
The gas station attendant had walked away from the pumps just moments before as he finished fueling a vehicle. The vehicle had also left the pump just before that accident.
Despite the erupting flames, the area police department reported no life-threatening injuries. It is unclear if anyone received minor injuries.
