Our heartfelt condolences go towards the family of the victim. May they find the strength and courage to move forward from this tragedy. We know and understand the rage and the anguish the family and loved ones may be feeling. Car crashes can be extremely scary, and can turn serious very quickly.
New Jersey State Police reports that there were 592 crashes in 2017, where there were 624 fatalities. One of the biggest factors that contributed to these crashes is a driver driving inattentively, which was the cause in 196 crashes which resulted in fatalities. Another big factor is speeding, which caused 61 fatal crashes. We urge drivers to be more attentive while on the road. Maintaining focus can help a driver react accordingly to whatever happens on the roadway and can help avoid accidents. Drivers should also observe and follow speed limits on the roadways. These speed limits are designed so that everyone on the roadway can be safe. Speed limits are also designed to allow reaction time if ever a vehicle does an unsafe maneuver. Being more diligent on the road can help everyone stay safer.
