BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A 28-year-old pregnant woman and an infant were injured Monday evening in a chain-reaction crash on Route 208 near southeast Fair Lawn, reports Daily Voice.

The multi-vehicle wreck occurred on the southbound lanes at Virginia Drive, just after 5:00 p.m. Borough police and fire crews were called to the scene.

It was unclear what caused the accident, but the impact sent the woman’s Honda sedan spinning, causing it to strike a garage at a nearby garden apartment complex.

Both the woman and her infant, who was in the backseat of the Honda at the time of the crash, were both transported to a local hospital. Authorities have not disclosed their conditions, but witnesses said their injuries appeared more minor than serious.

No other injuries have been reported, but Daily Voice said the initial crash caused a “rubbernecking crash” on the northbound highway.
