DUMONT, NJ – A driver was hospitalized after crashing into a tree in Dumont in what authorities believe was an intoxication-related incident yesterday evening, according to the Daily Voice.

The collision happened near the intersection of Cooper and West Madison Avenues at around 6 p.m., when the driver of a black SUV collided with a tree. The vehicle then overturned.

The driver was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Authorities believe she may have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs when the collision happened.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
