MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ – The identity of the off-duty police officer killed in a car accident in Perth Amboy on Wednesday evening has been released.
According to Daily Voice, the 54-year-old man was Senior Police Officer Arcadio Rivera, Jr.
The officer was in the 300 block of Harbortown Boulevard when he suffered a medical episode behind the wheel at about 7:30 p.m. He slammed into vehicles parked along the street.
Authorities transported the man to Raritan Bay Medical Center where it was confirmed that he had a heart attack. He died in the hospital.
The father and former Marine is survived by his three children.
