OCEAN COUNTY, NJ – The hit-and-run driver who struck and killed an 81-year-old woman on Christmas Eve remains at large, according to Nj.com.
The woman, identified as Phyllis Shtab, was a passenger in a 2010 Mercedes Benz that was making a left turn from Interstate 195 to Cedar Swap Road. The Mercedes, driven by Shtab’s husband, was struck by a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado coming up the exit ramp at about 6 p.m.
The driver of the Chevy was Roberto Alcazar-Sanchez, 27, who ran on foot from the scene. Police are still looking for the suspect.
Shtab was taken with her husband to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. The passenger in the Chevy was also taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police are asking that anyone with information concerning the accident pass what they know on to the authorities.
