A 26-year-old East Orange driver in a 2015 Infiniti Q50 hit the victim, flinging his body into the northbound lanes, where he was struck again multiple times.
Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene. They are working to identify the body.
The East Orange driver remained at the scene but the other vehicles did not stop.
