NEWARK, NJ – A 40-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a car on the New Jersey Turnpike in Newark late on Tuesday night.
According to RLS Media, police responded to the crash scene and found the victim lying on the roadway in the local lanes of the southbound turnpike at about 11:08 p.m. The man had been struck by a Honda Accord near milepost 105.
The victim, who died from his injuries, was identified as Miguel Sanchez of Fayetteville, NC.
The road was closed for several hours overnight for an investigation at the scene. An off-site investigation into the accident is ongoing.
