ELIZABETH, NJ (UNION COUNTY) – A pedestrian died when a car ran them over on Route 1 and Route 9 in Union County early this morning, according to sources at RLS Media.
The accident happened at about midnight in Elizabeth where Routes 1 and 9 intersect the 200 block of Spring Street when a pedestrian was found lying in the roadway.
The victim, who has yet to be publicly identified, was declared dead at the scene of the accident.
It is unclear if the driver remained at the scene after the crash.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the collision at this time.
