Pedestrian killed after being struck by pickup truck in Roselle Park

ROSELLE PARK, NJ (UNION COUNTY) – A man from Elizabeth was killed after being struck by a pickup truck while he was attempting to cross the street in Roselle Park yesterday.

According to NJ.com, the accident happened at about 5:25 p.m., in the 100 block of E Westfield Avenue, near Dalton Street, when a 53-year-old man crossed the street.

He was struck by the driver of a 2012 Dodge Ram, a 53-year-old man from Roselle Park, and then taken to a local hospital. There, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The driver stayed at the scene after the collision.

The identities of the victim and driver have not yet been released.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
