HACKENSACK , NJ – A pedestrian was severely injured when he was struck by a vehicle on Thursday, Daily Voice reports.
The accident happened at approximately 8:30 p.m. on South River Street.
The victim, Michael Columbo, 56, was hit by a 2015 Grand Cherokee when crossing in the middle of the block just outside of a shopping plaza.
Columbo was wearing dark clothing when he attempted to cross the four-lane road. He allegedly crossed the block improperly and received a summons.
Columbo suffered head trauma and was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center.
The accident is under investigation by Hackensack Traffic Bureau.
