NEWARK, NJ – A pedestrian was killed by a car on Route US 1&9 near the Newark International Airport on Friday morning, according to RLS Media.
The accident happened near the turn from US 1&9 to the airport entrance at about 6:10. When authorities arrived, they found a pedestrian fatally struck by a car that had left the scene.
A car was found nearby the intersection of Route 21 and Walnut Avenue that might have been involved in the incident but it remains unclear.
The identity of the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, has not been released.
The accident remains under investigation.
