Pedestrian fatally struck by two vehicles south of Newark

NEWARK, NJ – A 60-year-old man was hit and killed at an Essex County intersection early Thursday morning.

Around 4:45 a.m. the victim was hit by two separate vehicles neat Route 1 and Route 9, reports the Daily Voice. The 60-year-old Elizabeth man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both drivers as well as a witness remained on the scene to speak with authorities. The incident remains under investigation.
