EDISON, NJ – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a New Jersey Transit train on the North East Corridor line in Edison on Tuesday morning, according to RLS Media.
The train was traveling between Trenton and Metropark when the pedestrian walked onto the tracks on the east side of Edison. The person was struck and killed at about 7:10 a.m.
No one onboard the train was injured. The identity of the victim has not been released.
NJ Transit suspended train service in the area, as well as Amtrak.
The New Jersey Transit Police are leading the ongoing investigation.
