Pedestrian dies after Cranford crash

UNION COUNTY, NJ – A man was pronounced dead in a local hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Cranford on Tuesday morning, according to Nj.com.

The man was crossing Springfield Avenue, near the intersection with Orange Avenue, when he was struck by a southbound vehicle at about 6:30 a.m.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and there pronounced dead. His identity is still being withheld until his family can be notified.

The 51-year-old driver, from Kenilworth, remained at the scene. No charges have been filed, at this time.

Local police are still continuing an investigation.
