WEST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, NJ – A late-night accident on Route 1 Monday took the life of a pedestrian, according to NJ.com.
The 24-year-old male victim was struck first in the left-hand lane of northbound Route 1 near the Meadow Road overpass at around 11 p.m. The force of the collision pushed the man into the center lane, where a second vehicle ran him over.
The Piscataway man died at the scene. The drivers—one a 43-year-old from Pennsylvania and the other a 35-year-old from Massachusetts—were both uninjured.
The identity of the victim has been withheld until authorities are able to notify the next of kin.
Route 1 was closed for hours while police investigated the crash.
