VINELAND, NJ – A pedestrian walking across the roadway in Vineland was fatally hit by a car on Friday night, according to NJ.com.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Southwest Boulevard and W Chestnut Avenue at 9:33 p.m., when a 49-year-old woman from Vineland, driving a 2013 Acura TSX, collided with a person crossing the street.

The pedestrian, who was not immediately identified, died as a result of the crash.

Authorities stated that the crash did not occur in the crosswalk, though the collision remains under investigation at this time.
