WESTFIELD, NJ (UNION COUNTY) – An 87-year-old man was killed Friday when he was walking across an intersection in Westfield, according to NJ.com.
The accident happened around 12:50 p.m. at the intersection of South Avenue and Scotch Plains Avenue when the victim was hit by a car while trying to cross the busy street.
The pedestrian victim from Scotch Plains was taken to and pronounced dead at University Hospital in Newark.
His identity has not yet been released.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
