HACKENSACK, NJ – A Paterson man was charged with vehicular homicide after killing a pedestrian in a hit-and-run accident in Bergen County on Friday, NJ.com reports.
The accident occurred at 8:19 p.m. Friday on Court Street, near the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. The victim was found unconscious in the roadway whenever emergency services arrived.
The victim was identified as Hackensack resident James Dixon. He was later taken to the hospital, where he was declared dead.
Paterson man Fabio Campos Azofeifa, 47, was arrested in Hackensack on Saturday following police investigation. He has been charged with vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving under the influence.
