PATERSON, NJ – According to Paterson Times, a councilman was driving while intoxicated when he was pulled over by police on Don Bosco Avenue in Paterson because he was driving on the wrong side of the road and almost hit a parked car.
The councilman by the name of Shahin Khalique begged authorities to not give him a DWI, telling them, “Please don’t give me no DWI, boss.” Instead, he wanted them to issue him a citation and let him go.
Khalique put in the back of the police car and taken to the New Jersey State Police Barracks where he begins sluring, “Just give me a ticket my uncle is a sheriff’s officer.”
The incident took place on February 4, 2010, however the 28-minute dashboard camera footage was just sent in Thursday morning.
On July 1, 2010, Khalique appeared before the Paterson Municipal Court and plead guilty to the charge of driving while intoxicated.
