PARAMUS, NJ – A ShopRite cashier and customer were both injured when a runaway sedan struck them in a Paramus parking lot on Saturday night.
Daily Voice reported that the 33-year-old cashier was helping load the 65-year-old woman’s groceries into her car in the parking lot of the ShopRite on Route 4 on Saturday night. A 2015 Nissan Versa malfunctioned when its driver shifted into reverse and struck both women.
The cashier and customer were transported to Hackensack University Medical Center where they were treated for serious injuries.
The 68-year-old driver was not injured. Police have impounded his vehicle as they continue an investigation into the accident.
