OCEAN CITY, NJ – Two boaters were pulled from the water off South Jersey after their boat was found ashore in Green Egg Inlet on Wednesday. One man was dead and the other was injured.
According to NJ.com, New Jersey State Troopers discovered the abandoned 26-foot boat on the beach near Seacliff Road. The whereabouts of the vessel’s occupants was not immediately obvious.
The Coast Guard used a helicopter to locate the two boaters in the water offshore. Once located, they sent a swimmer to rescue the two men.
A 59-year-old man was unresponsive when he was pulled from the water. The second man, a 73-year-old, was transported to a nearby hospital, but his condition is unknown.
