NEWARK, NJ – A car accident in Newark over the weekend left one person dead and another person injured, according to a local news source.
Authorities who responded to the scene at Hawthorne Avenue and Irvine Turner Boulevard at about 12:30 a.m. on Saturday were able to extricate one of the crash victims from the vehicle. The second victim, a male, whose identity is being withheld pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is known that the vehicle struck a utility pole but other events surrounding the crash have not been released.
