NEWARK, NJ- A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and critically injured in Newark Sunday night, according to local media sources.
The accident occurred at approximately 8:35pm, near Central Avenue and South 9th Avenue. The victim, a woman, was trapped under a vehicle and needed assistance to be extricated. She was transported by officials as a trauma alert to University Hospital. Two vehicles fled the scene of the accident, but it has yet to be declared a hit-and-run.
