CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ – An officer sustained minor injuries when a 20-year-old man drove away from a motor vehicle stop in Gloucester Township, according to NJ.com.
Police stopped the Philadelphia man on Williamstown Road at about 12:45 a.m. on Saturday morning. Officers suspected that Oliver Lee was under the influence of drugs or otherwise impaired and asked him to exit the vehicle. Instead of getting out of his car, Lee put it in drive and ran over the foot of Lt. Jason Fretz and hit him with his door.
Police pursued the vehicle for about three miles until the suspect’s vehicle began to malfunction and stopped. After arresting Lee, police officers found marijuana and a knife in the vehicle.
Lee was arrested and charged with eluding, assault by auto, possession of drugs, and weapons offenses.
