PARAMUS, NJ – According to Daily Voice, one officer was injured by an uncooperative driver who ignored uniformed authorities and “road closed” signs.
The incident happened on Thursday on Closter Dock Road when the driver drove into a closed area, making construction workers flee to stay safe. Three officers attempted to make him stop but he did not and was pursued to a gas station at the corner of Closter Dock Road and Piermont Road.
The driver, Sang Lee, 24, would not give officers his identification or exit his vehicle. As an officer attempted to remove him from his vehicle, Lee drove away, dragging one officer on the driver’s side door.
Lee was eventually apprehended after a struggle and is facing charges of aggravated assault to an officer, eluding, and assault with a vehicle.
The officer received treatment for his injuries at Hackensack University Medical Center.
