Off-duty officer killed in North Bergen vehicle accident and fire

NORTH BERGEN, NJ- An off-duty police officer in North Bergen was killed in an accident and vehicle fire on Saturday morning, according to Daily Voice.

At approximately 7:00am, officials found the victim in their vehicle near 41st Street in North Bergen. The vehicle had crashed into a garbage truck and caught on fire. The driver of the truck experienced minor injuries, whereas the off-duty officer was pronounced dead at Jersey Shore Medical Center shortly after.
