UNION COUNTY, NJ – A young Plainfield man was struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit train near a Union County station on Saturday evening.
According to NJ.com, the 18-year-old was struck near the Plainfield Station by a train on the Raritan Valley Line at about 6:40 p.m. The train, with about 30 passengers on board, was expected in Cranford out of Raritan at 6:54 p.m.
The victim was identified as Lorenzo Bautista.
Service was temporarily suspended on Saturday night.
The New Jersey Transit police conducted the investigation.
