MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ – A New Jersey Transit train struck and killed a woman in Middlesex County on Tuesday evening, according to Nj.com.
The pedestrian was struck to the west of Metuchen Station at about 6:50 by a train on the Northwest Corridor line. The train had left Penn Station in New York at 6:12 p.m. and was due at 7:35 p.m. in Trenton.
Service was suspended for close to two hours after the incident and only resumed with half-hour delays. The train had about 100 people on board between crew and customers.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
