MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit train in Neptune Township late on Monday morning, according to NJ.com.
The accident happened at the tracks near 11th Avenue and Main Street at about 11:50 a.m. A man was struck by a train on the North Jersey Coast line out of Bay Head and bound for Long Branch. About 60 customers and staff were on board the train at the time.
Service in both directions between Bay Head and Long Branch was suspended for about an hour.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending the notification of his family.
