NEWARK, NJ – A pedestrian died after a New Jersey Transit train struck the man near the Broad Street Station in Newark on Tuesday morning.
According to Daily Voice, the Morris and Essex line train was out of Montclair State University and bound for Hoboken at 8 a.m. The pedestrian was pronounced dead following the accident west of Broad Street Station at about 7:45 a.m.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
No one on board, about 20 people at the time, were injured.
New Jersey Transit police and EMS responded to the scene. The NJ Transit police are conducting the investigation.
