BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ – Three New Jersey Transit Police Officers are being hailed as heroes after saving the life of an injured pedestrian last month.
According to a news report, the officers witnessed the accident while doing community outreach in Palmyra. A woman was hit by a vehicle while crossing a street on July 30.
One of the officers began attending to her head injury while an ambulance was called. The woman lost consciousness and suddenly stopped breathing, prompting the officers to begin CPR. Due to continued CPR from the officers, the woman regained consciousness and started breathing again.
Once the ambulance arrived, the victim was transported to a local trauma center.
