ESSEX COUNTY, NJ – The Chevrolet sedan passenger killed in New Jersey Turnpike accident on Monday morning was a 55-year-old Bronx resident.
According to Daily Voice, Monique Lucas was sitting in the passenger seat of a Chevrolet Malibu that had become disabled in the right lane of the NJ Turnpike near milepost 106. The Malibu was struck from behind by a Dodge Ram at about 4:10 a.m. The impact slammed the Malibu into the center barrier, killing Lucas.
The 33-year-old driver of the Malibu, also from the Bronx, was seriously injured. The 43-year-old Saddle Brook driver in the pickup truck sustained moderate injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
