ESSEX COUNTY, NJ – Authorities are asking the public for assistance in solving a fatal hit-and-run accident in Newark’s South Ward area on Saturday night.
According to Nj.com, a 36-year-old man was struck by a car near the corner of Elizabeth Avenue and Earl Street at about 11 p.m.
The victim, identified as Andrew Dixon, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver left the scene of the accident and police are actively working to apprehend the suspect. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the authorities.
