MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ – The 29-year-old pedestrian who died in a collision on the New Jersey Turnpike accident in Edison on Monday morning has been identified.
According to Daily Voice, Francis S. Marte rear-ended a vehicle in the northbound lanes near mile-marker 84 at around 3 a.m. He pulled his car to the left-hand shoulder, exited the vehicle, and was struck by a Chrysler Voyager as he attempted to cross the local lanes.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was hurt in either the first accident or the second.
The accident is still under investigation.
