PERTH AMBOY, NJ – Service was suspended in the two counties after a New Jersey Transit train derailed in Perth Amboy early on Tuesday morning.
According to RLS Media, cars on a New Jersey Coastline train derailed in Perth Amboy at about 12:20 a.m. The train was out of Long Branch and due to arrive in New York Penn Station at 1:18 a.m.
Several cars on the train stayed upright. No one on the train was injured.
An investigation into why the train derailed has been inconclusive at this juncture but is ongoing.
