HOBOKEN, NJ – Police have released the identity of the driver who fled the scene after striking a bicyclist in Hoboken earlier this week.
Daily Voice reported that the 24-year-old New Hampshire man was taken to the hospital after being struck near Garden Street and First Street at about 12:50 a.m. on Monday. The victim was transported from the scene with serious injuries.
Police identified Ryan Verrone, a 32-year-old Homeland Security Agent, as the driver who fled the scene. He was off-duty at the time of the accident and initially stopped at the scene but then fled. He later surrendered to the Hoboken authorities who were investigating the accident.
