Motorcyclist seriously hurt in crash near south Glen Ridge

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — One person suffered severe injuries Tuesday afternoon in a motorcycle accident on Bloomfield Avenue near south Glen Ridge, reports local media.

The wreck occurred near the intersection with High Street at about 6:15 p.m.

Few details have been released at this time, but Glen Ridge Police said officers arrived on the scene to find the rider down on the roadway with significant injuries.

A section of Bloomfield Avenue was shut down in both directions during the emergency response and investigation.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the wreck. At this time, no other vehicles appear to have been involved.
