MORRIS, NJ – According to NJ.com, a train accident near the Convent Station in Morris Township took the life of one person on Wednesday.
The accident happened at about 9:30 p.m. when a man was hit by a New Jersey Transit train and died from the impact. The man was struck by a train on the Morris & Essex line, coming from Hackettstown.
The train that was scheduled to arrive in Hoboken at 10:24 had 8 people aboard, both crew and passengers.
This is the second New Jersey Transit train accident this week.
The accident remains under investigation by the New Jersey Transit Police.
