MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ – A man was charged with DWI and several other offenses after driving slowly in the wrong lane on New Jersey Route 46 and impeding traffic on Tuesday morning, according to WRNJ.
Mine Hall Township resident Craig Hopping, 51, was driving slowly and obstructing traffic on Route 46 on Tuesday at 11:40 a.m. Hopping was headed westbound in a Toyota Corolla and driving in the left lane.
The driver performed an unlawful left turn, failed to remain in the proper lane, and nearly caused a crash.
Police stopped the vehicle and noted that the driver seemed to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. After being asked to complete field sobriety tests, Hopping was taken into police custody.
He faces charges including DWI, failure to maintain a lane, failure to keep right, driving in an unsafe manner, and driving slowly to impede traffic. He will appear in court at a later date.
