MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ – Authorities are investigating an accident that seriously injured a pedestrian on Route 9 in Marlboro Township on Sunday night.
According to local news, the pedestrian was struck on northbound Route 9 near Willow Lane at about 9:10 p.m. The 26-year-old driver of Kia Seltos struck the man as he was crossing the road. An investigation has determined that he was also possibly struck by a second vehicle.
Medics transported the victim to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital with internal injuries and fractures.
Alcohol or drugs did not factor in the crash.
Police are asking witnesses to contact the authorities as the investigation continues.
