Man struck and killed by freight train in Harrington Park

HARRINGTON PARK, NJ – A man was struck and killed by a freight train on the tracks in Harrington Park on Sunday afternoon, according to Daily Voice.

A 53-year-old man walked on the tracks near LaRoche Avenue and was struck by the CSX freight train at about 4 p.m.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

CSX offered their condolences to everyone affected by the incident and thanked emergency personnel for their quick response to the accident scene. Local police investigated the incident and ruled the death a suicide.

LaRoche Avenue and Lafayette Road were both closed at the railroad tracks on Sunday afternoon.
