Man seriously hurt after driving SUV off retaining wall in Vernon Twp

VERNON TOWNSHIP, NJ (SUSSEX COUNTY) – A man was seriously injured this morning in Sussex County after he drove his vehicle off the side of a retaining wall at a landscaping supply company, according to a report by NJ.com.

The accident happened at about 9 a.m. on Vernon Crossing Road at the Valley Mason Supply Company.

The victim, who has yet to be publicly identified, was seriously hurt and suffered a possible head injury after being trapped in the wreckage.

After he was rescued by emergency crews, he was airlifted to a hospital in Hackensack. His current condition is unknown at this time.

The accident remains under investigation.
