HOWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ – A driver’s life was saved when a police officer pulled the victim from his burning vehicle in Howell Township on Saturday.
According to Daily Voice, Officer Nicholas Volpe went running toward the scene of a burning vehicle on Manassa Road at about 7:45 p.m. The vehicle was fully involved when the officer approached and he pulled the disoriented driver from the window.
The officer walked the driver to a safe space away from the scene. The driver is expected to recover, and Volpe was uninjured.
The cause of the fire remains unclear.
