Man riding hoverboard killed in accident in Bayonne

BAYONNE, NJ – Authorities are investigating an accident involving a hoverboard that killed a man in Bayonne Sunday afternoon, according to Shore News Network.

The accident occurred in the area of 40th Street and Avenue C, where a man riding a hoverboard was struck by a motor vehicle. The victim, 40-year-old Matthew Anderson of Bayonne, was later pronounced dead at the Jersey City Medical Center.

The 23-year-old man who had been driving the motor vehicle remained at the scene, police said. At this time no charges have been filed in the case.

The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit.
