HOWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ – A man from Berkeley Township died after being hit by a driver in Howell late last night, according to information from NJ.com.
The crash happened at about 9:35 p.m. on Route 9 near Salem Hill Road and New Friendship Road as the victim, a 56-year-old man, was walking northbound. He was then struck from behind by a 45-year-old driver from Jackson.
The victim died at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene of the crash and has cooperated with the investigation. Police efforts continue at this time.
