Man charged for multi-car accident that injured motorcyclist

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ – A Fair Lawn man has been charged following a multi-vehicle accident that severely injured a motorcyclist last week in Mahwah.

According to a local news story, Ryan McMullen was using a cellphone when he crashed into a motorcycle on Route 17 near Route 22 in the afternoon of September 4. He struck the motorcycle from behind and then hit and a second vehicle.

The unidentified 35-year-old motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and severely injured. He was transported to a local hospital from the scene and is now in stable condition.

McMullen, 37, is facing charges for assault by auto, reckless driving, and using a hand-held device while using a motor vehicle.
