WHERE, NJ – The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey are taking pains to assure commuters that the Lincoln Tunnel is safe after a watermain break a couple of weeks ago.
According to NJ.com, the incident gained attention after a YouTube video was posted when water from the watermain as gushing inside the tunnel.
The incident that happened on July 14 had water flowing on the tunnel floor from the pedestrian walkway in the tunnel, but the water is not from the Hudson River as may have been assumed from the video.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey showed a picture of a dry tunnel saying that the Lincoln Tunnel is safe.
