GLEN ROCK, NJ – An intoxicated woman abandoned her vehicle in the middle of Highwood Avenue on May 28, sources report.
Sgt. Bryan Scott discovered the unoccupied Jeep at approximately 2:44 a.m. last Thursday morning. The vehicle was running and its driver’s-side door open was open.
Police tracked the vehicle’s owner back to her Ridgewood apartment, where they discovered her to be heavily intoxicated. She told police officers that her vehicle was in the driveway to her apartment, then said it had been stolen.
The Ridgewood Police Department investigated both these assertions and determined they were false.
Because all of the apartment’s occupants were intoxicated, police moved the vehicle to the side of the road and secured it. The owner was advised to contact police to claim her vehicle when she was sober.
